Survey - Beehive marking in Western Australia
Part 1
In PART I of this survey the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) is inviting submissions on proposed amendments to the IMSA Regulations relating to beekeepers, which are intended to enable greater flexibility in the methods used to mark beekeepers’ registered identifiers on hives, and to repeal provisions relating to temporary beekeepers.
The proposed regulations will allow the DPIRD Director General to approve the method by which a hive may be marked, accommodating an increasing range of hive construction materials.
Part 2
In PART II of this survey DPIRD is inviting feedback on the proposed specifications and requirements of the hive markings. Once the amended Regulations are in effect, these may be approved and published by the Director General on DPIRD’s website.
To make a submission:
- read the consultation paper, the consultation draft, the proposed hive marking requirements and the FAQs
- register (if you have previously registered on this site, then just sign in)
- complete the survey.
Once you have completed the survey, you will receive an email with a copy of your submission.
If you have any questions or difficulties registering or using the survey, please email: HiveMarkingRegulations@dpird.wa.gov.au
Submissions close on 28 February 2025 at 4pm AWST.
